Running Thoughts: The Walking Dead - 4x02

My stream of thoughts while watching The Walking Dead continues. My instant thoughts written while watching the walking dead and later edited for spelling, grammar and general nonsense...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 4x02

The Walking Dead 4x02 - "Infected"

Most of the time I watch and type at the same time pausing when I need to, today I was eating my dinner when I sat down to write this, so I let it run until I finished eating... big mistake. The new show runner has really stepped up his game and seems to be as much a fan of the suspense and the gore as we are. I am now going to rewind those 8 mins and watch again from the start typing as I go! Warning not for the squeamish!

Running Thoughts: The Walking Dead - 4x01

My stream of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues for another season. My instant thoughts written while watching the walking dead and later edited for spelling, grammar and general nonsense...

The Walking Dead 4x01 - "30 Days Without Accident"

After last season's disappointing finale where The Guv'nor lived, I am hoping for a few things this episode. Firstly I am hoping that Daryl and Carol are finally getting it on, I hope that Carl is still the little psychopath I have grown to love and I hope that there will be plenty of blood and gore. If the title is anything to go by then we know that this will probably be the case!! Yay!

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x12

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

The Walking Dead 3x12 - "Clear"

Right, not that I am up to date I can crack on with this week's episode!

Previously... Rick and the walkie talkie from right back at the beginning, deal Lori's wish, crying Carl, crazy Rick, Michonne's prison days are numbered.

Michonne, Rick and Carl are all in the car for their run for food and amo. Michonne is driving and they see a hiker by the side of the road. Michonne drives on by not stopping or slowing down for him. Neither Rick not Carl even blink at this. When they come across a car wreck full of bodies Michonne goes to drive round and slows too much getting stuck in the mud. Suddenly walkers are surrounding the car, I say surrounding, but there are only about 6 of them. Rick takes them out then makes a little thingy to get the car out of the mud. Carl wants to know why they have brought Michonne with them and Rick tells him that he didn't want to leave her in the prison with Merle and for now they have similar goals. Hiker guy has caught up a bit with them and shouts for them to wait, but they just get back in the car and go on their way, like the badasses they are! (I am guessing he will show up again later!)

Credits... creepy!

They drive into and abandoned town and start to look around, stopping at the sheriff's office first to look for amo. Oh this is Rick's station. He says that there are only a few other places to check for guns. He knows where as he signed the permits. Rick asks Michonne if she has a problem with that and she says no, but it is pretty awkward. They pass a wall that has "away with you" written on the side and a pile of burned bodies. There are arrows on the ground and it all seems a bit like a game show. Another wall with "No Guilt, you know that" on it and a crazy barrier of stuff on the street with "Turnaround and live" on the ground. I love this place, it is amazing! It looks like something the Lost Boys would have made to keep people and walkers out.

A guy on the roof shoots a walker and tells them to drop their weapons and shoes and leave. Michonne wants to stay and fight so they do. The guy from the fight makes it down to ground level and Carl shoots him in the belly. He is all armoured up, so not dead and when they take off his mask it is the dude from the first episode. There is no chance in hell of me remembering his name until it is said, but this spells trouble for Tyreese.

Rick is weary of booby traps, and I would be too, this is some Goonie level stuff. Carl is watching the unconscious guy and Rick remembered that he had a son. If he has turned out anything like Carl, then beware. This guy is not only a fan of the booby trap, but also loves writing shit on things! There are some interesting traps, spikes under the door mat, a trip wire axe. I absolutely love this place and I think they should all move out of the prison and into this nest of crazy!

Inside his house they find all the weapons they were looking for and then some, also writing everywhere! After Rick takes a long look round to see how crazy this guy is, he then finds the other walkie talkie. He was waiting for a message all along. There is also "Duane Turned" written on the wall. I think that was his son, this is so sad. Rick wants to wait for him to wake up and talk to him before they steal all of his stuff. michonne thinks he is dangerous and that they should leave, but her vote is ignored.

Carl finds a map on one of the chalkboard walls and it has their house marked on it with a note saying "Burned Out". Michonne starts eating his food and when questioned makes a joke - you go Michonne, making a funny! Carl wants to go out and get a crib for Judith and Michonne makes lots of valid points, big box, heavy, and then offers to go with him. Yay Michonne and Carl on an adventure. It could be a series of children's books!

Outside Carl asks Michonne to take care of a walker, and while she is off stabbing it in the eye (and then making the best, disgusted, face at the mess on her sword) Carl runs off like the annoying kid he is, to get to the baby shop! Michonne catches up to him and asks him what he is doing. He want's to do this on his own, since he wants to get Judith a little something special first, so Michonne just follows at a distance, like a bodyguard.

Guy on bed is coming round and has a handy knife hidden under his mattress, good call. He gets up to attack Rick and helpfully I find out his name is Morgan, so I can stop calling him dude! Morgan has gone super crazy and says that people are wearing other people's faces. He then stabs Rick in the shoulder - shizz! Rick aims his gun, but stops when Morgan asks to die.

Morgan remembers who Rick is after a while. Morgan tells him that he turned on the radio every day with his son at dawn waiting for Rick to reply, and then it was just Morgan on his own. Rick tells him that they had to keep moving further and further out of Atlanta and he couldn't help it. Morgan's story of how his son was turned was so sad. Morgan did not kill his wife in the first episode and she found them and ended up getting hold of Duane and biting him and Morgan had to shoot both his wife and his son. Morgan is super bitter about Rick and his son being together. I am sad for him.

Carl is about to enter something that looks like a cafe, when Michonne stops him. They have an argument and it seems like Carl is bitter about Michonne being there spouting off "you can't stop me" Michonne come back with "you can't stop me helping you"! OMG I am so happy right now, these two meddling kids are going to come up with some amazing, walker avoiding, plan, I can just tell! Rats on skateboards!! Brilliant! They distract the walkers long enough for Michonne and Carl to sneak in and steal a picture. They are almost caught by a meddling walker, but Michonne had it all in hand! A RAT! the walkers notice them on the way out because a rat escaped and they get out by the skin of their teeth, but Carl has dropped the picture. DAMN IT CARL. He wants to go back in, but Michonne is awesome, and I think this will secure their friendship forever as she is going back in at the back to get it herself, leaving him waiting out the front holding the door closed!

She comes back with the picture that Carl wants to give to Judith and tells Carl that she wanted to go back in anyway for a crazy-amazing colourful cat statue! This is the best Walking Dead mood lightening comedy duo ever!

I love Michonne's taste in cat statues!

Rick wants Morgan to come back with them and stay at the prison. Morgan is not interested. He realises that if Rick needs all of those guns they are having to fight to keep the prison. Rick wants Morgan to come and have hope that they can live a normal life soon. Morgan wants none of it though, he just wants to die. Rick tries his best to talk him round, but Morgan thinks his purpose is to clear (walkers?) and he stays in his nest of crazy!

Rick, Michonne and Carl all meet up outside and Michonne and Carl have actually found a crib for Judith. Morgan is strapping dead walkers to a gurney, and I kind of want to know what he is going to do with them. Carl tries to apologise to Morgan for shooting him, but Morgan tells him to never be sorry! Life lessons for the apocalypse!

Rick asked if everything was OK with Michonne and Carl tells him that he thinks she "might be one of us". I can't tell you how happy this makes me. The gang is complete! Michonne and Rick chat about all the dead people they see and talk to, and it is quite a nice moment. Rick lets Michonne drive on account of him seeing things that are not there and off they speed. They pass Morgan talking the dead off the gurney and putting them on the burned body pile.

On the way home they pass a dead bloodied body with the hikers pack, oops - well, what could they have done, and they stop to pick up the pack.

next time... a Guv/Rick pow wow looks like it is going to take a turn for the worse, and Glen wants to kill the Guv!

Walker kill of the week - Michonne's disgusted look on her face when she realises she has walker brains on her katana.

Bitch of the week - Carl for trying to run off and do it his way!

I loved this episode. It was full of little bits of humour that we needed to offset Morgan's tragedy. The whole episode to me felt like an indie road movie. Everyone understood each other a little better by the end, and nothing too drastic happened. This is one of my favourite episodes so far, and it came just when I was getting really fed up of all the Woodbury nonsense. Perfect timing.

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x11

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x11

The Walking Dead 3x11 - "I Ain't A Judas"

This post is super late. I have no excuses, this is just when I am getting round to posting it. So without further chatter, here is my rather short post for last week's episode!

Previously... ghost, get out, "I got stuff", poor Axel, shooting, zombie van and Daryl and Merle to the rescue.

They all discuss not running from the prison, but staying to protect the prison. Merle is locked up, but it does not stop him from giving his opinion that The Guv is out for blood and won't stop until they are all dead. Hershel shows a bit of , recently unseen, backbone and shouts for Rick to man up and do something soon or they will all die.

Rick goes out into the yard to scan the distance with his binoculars. He sees something, that to me looks like someone hiding behind a tree. Is this in his mind? I am guessing if he was imagining it, then whoever/whatever would not need to hide. Carl comes out and mans up to tell rick to stand down from his position as leader and to let the power team of Hershel and Daryl handle things. What about Glen? is he not able to be part of that dream team?

Credits...creepy!

The Guv is rounding up all the able bodied to make a militia. Boys and girls with guns, sounds like a plan. Andrea comes in and huffs about how the Guv shot up the prison. He claims that it was all them, they shot first and it was not his fault. Damn that man loves to lie. Andrea tells the Guv that she is going to go and see them to talk to them, this goes down like a lead balloon and The Guv breaks out his shit parenting handbook once again to tell her that if she leaves she should not bother coming back.

Andrea wanders through the town where she is stopped by Teen Wolf Mum (yeah I worked it out) who doesn't want her son firing a gun cause he has asthma!

In the prison they are rallying the troops working out a plan to keep themselves safe. Glen tells them that they are running out of food and amo. He is also unhappy that Merle is staying with him, and I understand why since Merle's handiwork is still all over Glen's face! Daryl is pissed that everyone is on team Merle. Michonne looks pissed , but as usual says nothing.

Hershel tries to talk to Merle and it turns into a little bonding session over lost body parts and bible verses. Merle liked to read when he was at Woodbury and it seems that the bible was his book of choice. Personally I would have gone for something more fantasy based, but to each his own. Merle spins some home truths about how the Guv works and how he will kill them all.

The Guv decides to let and old lady with arthritis out of shooting duty for now, but I am sure he will find some other use for her in his army. Andrea tries to stand up for Asthma Boy, but like everyone else, the Guv ignores her.

Carol and Daryl are back together!! Yay. Carol calls the prison a home to which Daryl calls it a tomb. She says she thought the same thing until Daryl found her. Does she mean when she was missing, or in life? those crazy kids! Carol tries to nicely tell Daryl that Merle is bad for him and they giggle together.

Andrea is looking for a way out of the town and ends up enlisting Doc as her helper to escape the town. Doc wants nothing to do with it and says that it is a betrayal against the Guv. Andrea is beginning to see how fucked up it is that they are living in their own prison with children guarding the wall.

Ewwww, puss in the eye socket. Honestly the Guv should not look too closely at that thing. Ahhh, he has found a nice black pirate eye patch that will go with everything he likes to wear. Doc tells the Guv that Andrea is going to escape and the Guv tells Doc to help her. I think that he seems to actually want Andrea to have help so that she does it safely and is in the least amount of danger... but he could just be manipulating them both, AGAIN.

Doc and Andrea sneak up on walker and decide to make a walker camouflage out of him, Michonne style. Doc has his tape coat on again and gets scared when the walker comes towards him. They pin the walker down and hack off both arms and then put a stone under his mouth and stomp on the back of his head to detach the lower jaw. This was possibly one of the most disgusting things. Question... how exactly does this walker shield work? Other walkers can't smell her fresh soapy scent because of the hacked up walker? does that not mean she can just hide in a group of walkers and they will only smell each other? I am confused how this one walker on a stick is magic!

Michonne is doing some of the most amazing push up sit ups I have ever seen. I can only hope for this level of strength and fitness. Merle tells her that it was not personal when he was hunting her, it was only his job.

Tyreese and his gang find Doc and Andrea and Doc offers to take them back to the town and take them in. Andrea sets off on her little walk to the prison with her pet walker in tow. Tyreesetries to offer help, but Andrea is all good!

Carl is on watch out duty when he spies Andrea and her pet coming towards them, and Maggie tells him to go and get the gang. They start shouting at Andrea attracting more walkers before they let her in. Once in she is treated like the prisoner she deserves to be treated like. I am guessing that at this point she is still firmly on team Guv. They do a quick catch up, Lori - dead, Shane - dead, Hershel - one leg, baby - girl, T-dog - dead, Carl - cool, Rick - crazy. Andrea is confused that Michonne has not said loads of great stuff about her and that they are letting Merle stay. Andrea fills them all in on the army at Woodbury, see sees death and destruction coming but won't help them.

Michonne and Andrea have a wee heart to hear about how shit The Guv is. Michonne calls Andrea out saying that she picked a warm bead over a friend. Burn bitch!

Tyreese and his gang are getting cozy in the Woodbury medical centre. They tell the Guv that Rick is a mad man who chased them out of the prison. Tyreese tells the Guv that they are in if they can stay and all the Guv wants in return is the layout of the prison.

There is some Carol, Andrea and baby time which does not make me hat her any less. Carol tells Andrea how Lori and Shane died. Carol wants Andrea to kill the Guv after having sex with him. Cold, but also a good plan, very Greek!

Andrea drives back to Woodbury in a borrowed car after getting her gun back from Rick. She drives away from the prison looking a quite a different group of people to the last time they were together. They are all standing with their guns in their hands ready to take on the next problem. The kids at Woodbury who are guarding the wall still need to learn some stuff, like to crouch behind the wall.

The disgusting couple are reunited. Andrea tells the Guv that they are broken and living like savages. They do it.

Beth sings a little tune to everyone while they are sitting round the fire. I quite like it - catchy. Rick plans to go on a run with Michonne, it sounds like an epic road trip in the making. Andrea goes to kill The Guv but chickens out cause she is crap!

Next time... Rick and Michonne find someone, pile of burned bodies, car stuck, walkers!!, Carl tries to step up, Michonne steps in, new village, people!!

Woop, I can't wait.

Zombie Kill of the week: It was not technically a kill, but Andrea hacking up her walker shield was immense.

Bitch of the Week: Andrea - she had one job to do, kill the Guv!

Running Thoughts: The Walking Dead 3x10

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x10

The Walking Dead 3x10 - "Home"

Tonight's recap might be a little shorter than usual as I am just back from the gym and my trainer ran me into the ground tonight. I think he broke all the muscles in my shoulders, but hey when the zombie apocalypse comes I will be ahead of the curve! I had a very vivid dream about zombies last night and I know from that completely made up experience that I will need all the help I can get!

This episode started very nice and calm with Rick checking over the grounds with his binoculars. It looks a bit like Michonne is living, or at least taking shelter in an overturned bus. Rick is clearly still having the mental breakdown that he was having at the end of the last episode as he sees Lori standing looking at, what I can assume, is her grave. When he tries to chase after her she disappears and reappears on the other side of the fence. Rick starts to unlock all of the gates so that he can follow her outside. Michonne, in her usual calm and collected self, is watching him and very sensibly closes the gates after him, not trying to talk to him or question him about what he is doing. I really think he needs someone like that looking out for him and letting him get on with processing everything. Rick finally catches up to ghost Lori, and I'm surprised that it is actually her. I assumed from the bad lighting in the last episode that they could not actually get Sarah Wayne Callies to make an appearance.

Credits... creepy!

Damnit! Woodbury is still standing. There are a number of young guys guarding the front of the town. Are we supposed to believe that in a town like this they have people standing this close to each other all the the way round guarding all directions? I would guess they don't have that many people. Stupid Andrea is being visited by One-Eye-Mcgee, sorry the Guv, and he is refusing to let Andrea go and see the others at the prison because he thinks that she should stay and run the town. He is admitting that everything he has done was for Penny and now he needs time to get himself back together. I think he needs time perfecting his psychotic tenancies!

Yay, the Dixon brothers and Merle is, as usual, being a total dick and undermining his amazing little brother. Listen to him Merle, it's not like he was in a sweet cult, he looked after himself! Daryl just wants everyone back together and getting along, it;s very sweet and makes me like him more... and then he spits! Seriously!

So it looks like this lot have it a bit more together, trying to work out where the weak parts of the prison are. I like they way they are working all of this, teamwork and chalk. Michonne starts contributing to the conversation, and what does she decide to bring up? The heads in the fish tanks!! Well now Glen is hatching plans to go in and kill the Guv in his sleep. This can only lead to trouble and now Michonne has agreed to go with him. Hershel is trying to talk some sense into Glen, and I do see Glen's point that they are in a slightly weaker position now, so running is not an option. Looks like Michonne has been accepted by everyone except Rick now! Yay, happy dance.

The Guv and the Doc are discussing if the Doc is considering leaving. This has all suddenly turned into a conversation about loyalty, and everyone still believes Merle betrayed them and they are questioning if Andrea is loyal too. Just kick her out and be done with it!

Andrea is questioning someone on the wall that looks very familiar. I think she may have been someone's mother in something I have seen recently, gah, now I am going to have to look it up. No bother I will do it while the Doc and Andrea have a pointless conversation about where the Guv is. Nope, can't find her... yet.

It looks like the walkers have broken through a perimeter and the prison is slowly being over run by walkers again. Glen is going to do a drive by to see what the rest of the prison looks like and he is going to take Maggie. When he goes to look for her they have a conversation and it seems that Glen stills thinks Maggie was raped by the Guv and that is probably what is fuelling all his rage towards the Guv and Maggie. Aw man, I really like Glen and Maggie as a couple.

Bahhhahaha, it seems that Axel is in prison for robbing a store with a toy gun and was then set up. Carol gives him a badass gal's lesson in guns. She is my favourite character now. Awesome!

The Dixon brother's are annoying me as it reminds me a lot of me and my sister and they need to just lay off each other. Dudes, there are new people on the bridge. They may die in a minute, but it is still super exciting. Merle does not want to help, but Daryl the hero does! Daryl is super cool at killing the walkers and sweeping in where needed, I also think he get's walker kill of the week. When pulling a walker out of the boot of a car, he utitlises all functionality of the model by slamming the car boot on the walker's head and smushing it all to bits!! Amazing! Then he stabs one in the face! Racist Merle is back out to play when stealing from the Mexican family they just rescued! Daryl finally realises how much he has changed (for the better) being without Merle and Daryl lets the family go. Daryl then tells Merle some home truths and they bond and finally Daryl goes back to the prison where he belongs! So long Merle! - No don't follow Daryl! Damn!

Hershel is trying to psychoanalyse Glen and get him to realise that he is not to blame for any of it, but he can't run off on his own. It seems like everyone is trying to battle personal demons in this episode!

Beth uses some good old baby therapy to get Maggie to be a useful person again.

Rick is running round the perimeter looking for dead Lori and Hershel is trying to call him back inside by telling Rick how much the camp is falling apart without him. There is then, possibly my favourite piece of Walking Dead dialogue to date, it might even beat out "he threw a walker at me". Hershel asks Rick what he is doing out there to which Rick replies: "I've been.. I've got... stuff out here... stuff"
It is the kind of response you give when someone walks in on you doing private... stuff! Lol! Rick finally tells Hershel that he has been seeing Lori and Shane and Hershel takes this like the awesome guy he is and tries to get Rick in to rest and have a cup of tea.

I really like Axel. I think we are finally getting to know a bit about him and see him as a person and not just a potential threat on the fringe of the group. I think that Axel and Carol are quite cute together. Funny guy too! And I spoke too soon. Of course they gave him more dialogue, they were planning to kill him off!! I should have seen the signs! And it was the Guv, that guy is such a dick!

Shit, so much just happened that I am going to have to watch it a second time... Everyone pretty much hits the ground as soon as the shooting starts, and Carol has to use Axel's body as a shield. Everyone seems to be missing everyone else, except for Axel's body, which is being shot to shit! Maggie comes running out with more guns and they get Carol to cover. Everyone then pauses when they hear the sound of a vehicle coming up fast, and it is some kind of truck that crashes through the gates. Fuck me, I was hoping it would be Daryl coming to save the day, but instead it is the walker version of a trojan horse! Walkers are pouring into the yard where Hershel is hiding. We all know dude is getting better with one leg, but I'm not sure he can outrun the Walkers. Looks like Rick is going to get fucked up by some walkers and it looks rather dicey for a minute, and then the Dixons are back - Rick is saved (for the moment). Michonne is single handedly taking out all the Walkers with her katana so that she and Glen can go and get Hershel.

We end on Daryl, Merle and Rick outside with everyone else safely inside.

Next time... Carl steps up, Andre finds her balls, Merle is in, Carol loves Daryl (don't we all?), Ricktatorship could be over, Andrea gets a pet, Michonne does not look happy and Merle brigs back his sword hand! Oh yeah and there is a close up of the Guv's mangled eye hole!

Kill of the week: Daryl, smashing the head in the car boot
Bitch of the week: Andrea and Lori (still fucking Rick up even after her death!)

Now that was the kind of episode I love. It was well paced and then raced towards the end. I also did not expect a lot of the end action so I was caught off guard and that does not often happen. I can't wait for next week.

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x09

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x09

The Walking Dead 3x09 - "The Suicide Kings"

I am so excited, I just can't tell you! For a while it looked like I was going to have a rehearsal tonight and I would have to wait until late tonight to be able to watch this episode, but due to some general "fuckwittery" on the part of people who were supposed to have our new premises ready for us today, I have a free night! Hazzah!! So my dinner is on the stove simmering and I am ready to watch and share my thoughts!

Previously - Naked Maggie, glen, Carl in the prison, new folk, rescue mission, Michonne stabbing him in the eye (I forgot how gruesome it was!), Daryl staying behind, and him and Merle in the ring.

The crowd in Woodbury are screaming for death for Daryl and Merle. Who would have thought that such peaceful looking people were all such dicks. Andrea looks like she finally has some balls again trying to push past to get to Daryl shouting that he is her friend. Like all good dictators The Guv pushes the crowd to want blood and then claim that it is all out of his hands. Merle makes it look like he is going to kill Daryl to show his loyalty, but blood is thicker than water (most of the time) and Merle asks Daryl to play along. When the walkers are brought in the brothers stand together to fight... then the cavalry appears in the form of Rick, Maggie and a smoke bomb. Girl from the wall is shot dead and Andrea seems upset about this hanging about when she should be running after Daryl and Rick trying to get back to the gang. The Guv looks like he has pulled a stitch with all his anger and there is blood running down from under his bandage. He gets a pretty good kill this week with a quick pop to the head as he passes a walker.

Credits... creepy!

Still in Woodbury, the gang are about to leave, but Rick does not want to take Merle. He is being fairly brutal kicking out part of the tin wall and killing zombies with his metal stump, that they seem to just let him tag along. After they run one of the more observant walkers looks through the hole they just left in the wall the same way a kid looks at a sweet shop (if that kid was super creepy). And so starts the invasion of Woodbury. Michonne and Glen are waiting out on the road and a fair bit of time must have passed as it is daylight. When they hear the others coming there is relief and then anger at the sight of Merle. I would be pissed to see him too if I was either of them. Merle makes some lewd comments about Andrea and Michonne's relationship and Rick seems really pissed that Michonne knew Andrea and didn't mention it. You mean in all the long conversations you too have had, it never came up? Seriously it took her ages to tell people her name, don't act surprised! I never got the feeling that Michonne and Andrea had a romantic relationship. I just thought she was super intense. Did I read the whole thing wrong? Finally Rick just knocks him out. Bout time!

Back at the prison and Hershel is helping patch up the new kids on the block. They are all getting to know each other and Sasha jumps to the conclusion that Beth is the mother. Well this is awkward... We get some background info on Tyrese, Sasha, Ben and Alan. There is some good chat about breaking into or out of prison, lol! Sasha and Tyrese say that their camp was overrun. I wonder if this means it is gone for good or could be another place for everyone to go to if the prison falls. Hershel warns them not to get too comfortable since the Ricktatorship will be back in force soon.

Still in the middle of the road Maggie, Rick, Glen and Daryl are all debating who stays and goes. From what I can tell for Merle it is 3v1 to boot him and for Michonne it is 2v2. Daryl tells everyone that if they boot Merle, he is going too... Nooo... don't go! Daryl wants Rick to say bye to Carl and Little Asskicker, I am finding this all very sad! Daryl and Merle walk off into the woods together. They take Michonne back to the prison for medical attention and then a nice product placement shot of the car (still working even after the end of days!).

B-Team are taking the body of Donna out to the field to bury and they see Carl and Carol. They foolishly start spitballing ideas about how to get the weapons from the "little kid and the woman". How stupid can you be? If they were vulnerable do you think they would still be alive? You are going to get your ass handed to you son! At least Sasha and Tyrese don't want to do it. They could try acting a little less shifty round Axel and Beth, but I'm good with them. Alan and Ben - watch your back!

Watching the drive back to the prison my mind started wandering... why was there a truck in the road? Was is there when they left? Did they drive round it before but the branch was in the way? Was there a storm? So when the walker came out of the cab of the truck towards Glen I actually got a rather large shock. Damn it Emma, pay attention when watching zombies! Glen kills it with his foot! The boy has some issues. Apparently the issues are that Rick didn't murder the Guv and Glen wants him dead. Well that and Daryl and Merle are gone and I think Glen knows that they are screwed without him.

Andrea leaves the Woodbury town meeting and reports to Doc that there are 9 injured. Doc tells Andrea that the Guv is sulking, just wait until the walkers invade, you know they are just waiting round a corner until everyone is unprepared! And we have walker lift off. Yeah!! Just a few walkers have come out to feast on the fine folks of Woodbury. Andrea gets one kick ass point for not forgetting how to shoot. Bless, one of the villagers asks Andrea to do something to help the man dying. The Guv has it all under control though and shoots him in the head like a boss.

Carol and Carl have a nice little bonding moment over noise pollution and Lori. Carl feels guilty for being mean to her. I love both of these characters so much now. I couldn't stand either of them for a while, but I think they have developed nicely with layers and interest. The A-Team come back and Carl is happy, but Carol is worried when she can't see Daryl. She looks really worried and sad, and then a little heart broken when she finds out that he left and chose Merle. She really loves him and is heartbroken. This makes me super sad.

Back in the Guv's apartment and he has Rick's Sheriff gun bag out on the chair. Andrea gives him shit for being a dick, finally, but he couldn't care less. I am so ready for this whole town to be overrun by walkers and fall already. I am so over Woodbury, if I was Taylor Swift I would just write a song about it and be done, but I'm not so I will moan about how shit it is a while more. FINALLY Andrea knows about Maggie and Glen and that her group is still going! OH MY GOD she is not running away!

Aww, a nice sweet home coming with Maggie, Beth and Hershel. When Rick finds out about the B-Team he walks past them like a boss with Carl and Hershel following. If only Hershel was not such a hop-along that would have looked really cool (although he mastered hopping down the stairs like a champ!). When Rick holds the baby, looking like he has never held a baby in his life, it starts to cry and Rick looks like he is about to have an "episode"!

Everyone is in a flap because the Guv shot Richard!! Remind me who he was again... oh yeah a member of Woodbury and there for irrelevant. Andrea gives a rousing speech about how in generations they will write of this town in the history books and she uses people's names like a good politician. Isn't that write Karen (seriously they have to stop naming the walker food, just call him soon to be dead guy 1 and soon to be dead girl 4.) The Guv watched from behind the shutters and his team all look a little twitchy!

Beth and Carol talk about the pains of screaming children and then they discuss losing Daryl. Carol wonders if she could stand up to her abusive husband now. Beth, oh wondrous font of wisdom Beth, tells Carol exactly what I have been thinking. Carol would sure as hell tell her former hubby to get packing, and that they are weak without Daryl. Never a truer word has been said on this show. OMG Carol I feel your pain and I love when she tells Beth not to be pissed at Daryl... "He has his code and the world needs men like that."

We will all be pleased to know that glen has no broken bones, so will be back to his fine self within 2 episodes. Hershel thanks Glen for looking out for Maggie and tells him that he is like his own son. Aww sweet! Maggie and Glen can't look at each other. What did I miss? Is he still pissed that she didn't shoot the Guv in the arena? Get over it, I am sure your paths will cross again in a few episodes and you can get revenge then. Hershel will figure it all out to help us viewers. He tries to chip away at Maggie but she is giving nothing up.

Rick is being all creepy and asks Hershel when they can kick Michonne out. They then have a super quick summit meeting and agree that the Guv will retaliate for what has happened and that they are outgunned. Rick with all the charm of a brick wall goes in to meet the others and basically tells them to bugger off. I really think this is like a weird bluff on Rick's part as he needs them. He also seems super suspicious of how they got in like they could be spies, I guess they could? Hershel pleads for them and then Rick sees Lori's Ghost!! She is wearing a super clean white satin dress that probably represents something. Also a little tip for making friends, screaming at the ghost of your dead wife is probably not the best way to do it. Hershel does not even look remotely surprised that this is happening. Bummer, meltdown number 2!

Next time... People on a bridge, possibly Glen? Hershel knows staying in the prison is dangerous, Andrea wants to go to visit the A-Team, Hershel confronts Glen about going back, Daryl and Merle have a car, Glean and Michonne team up to be the A*-Team, Rick still crazy, Andrea still stupid, The Guv suspects Andrea, NEW PEOPLE!!

Walker kill of the week - Glen stomping the head to pulp
Bitch of the week - Andrea and Daryl (say no to your psycho brother!)

I am super happy that TWD is back, I felt a little disappointed in this episode. I felt that this was a bit of a bridging episode to get from the end of the last series to the point of this series. Nothing much happened after the fight at the beginning. I am looking forward to the series getting back to the meat of the story.

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x08

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x08

The Walking Dead 3x08 - "Made To Suffer"

I am currently full of the cold, so my excitement is masked by coughs and sniffles but it is there!! I feel like Andrea when it was just her and Michonne before she got stupid and slept with the Guv'nor! As soon as the kettle has boiled I will be getting my walking dead on!

Previously... Naked Maggie, bleeding Glen, Prison, Michonne, zombie child, "I'm in", brothers, sex, waiting!

We open on screaming and a zombie following the sound. And we have a new character, Tyreese, who is killing zombies left and right to get his group to safety. We have what looks like a husband, wife and son. Better not get too familiar with the wife since she has just had a massive chunk eaten out of her arm. They stumble upon the other side of the prison, which has not been secured yet and where we know there is a fence down. We see the full extent of the damage where it looks like a massive chunk of one of the blocks has been blown up or has crumbled. Sasha wants the wife to stay outside since she has been bitten (they could cut her arm off!!) by Tyreese convinces her to let them all in with them.

Credits - creepy

Andrea is making herself look as apocalypse slutty as she can for the Guv'nor. She has agreed to help Doc "cremate" Mr C from the last episode. She agrees that Woodbury is growing on her and I want to slap her in the face with a fish to wake her from this delusion. The Guv'nor give himself a really creepy look in the mirror. He is back in the room with the fish tanks, and we see that this is where he is keeping his daughter zombie in a cage. She comes running at him with the bag on her head and he pets her and continues to trat her like his daughter, singing to her and stroking her hair. It looks like it is working for a while, but she is just distracted by the bowl of meat! He then gets angry and locks her up again! Good parenting!

Maggie and Glen are together and Glen wants to know if Maggie was raped. Maggie assures him that she was not. There is a great line where Maggie states that with all the walkers out there you forget what humanity can do. In a totally gross but also awesome move, Glen goes to the dead zombie in the room and pulls off his arm like it is a massive chicken leg, and breaks it to get the bones out as makeshift weapons. The sound effects here are amazing and add to the whole effect.

Rick, Oscar, Daryl and Michonne are all outside scouting the wall. Michonne disappears and Rick thinks that she has run off. They know that they can't search everywhere so start to make a plan to take less stuff. Michonne comes back and signals everyone to follow her.

The Guv'nor and Merle discuss what we already knew... the prison is an amazing place to hide out. He doesn't plan to move Woodbury there as everyone likes it where they are, he plans to kill them, take their resources and lock the Walkers in. Merle wants to get Daryl out first and the Guv'nor agrees saying that they can make him the inside man, but you can tell from his face that he is lying! They discuss Maggie and Glen and The Guv'nor wants to get rid of them in the "Screamer Pits" before Andrea finds out that they are here. WTF are screamer pits, is that where they collect the zombies for the zombie fight. Good name, I tip my invisible hat to you Guv!

Michonne and the guys are breaking in via the place where Michonne was questioned after the zombie killings. they want to know where else Maggie and Glen could be being held and Michonne suggests his apartment. They wonder if Michonne is leading them into a trap (no, Michonne is awesome, trust her!). Someone comes to the door and they all hide. The question the poor man who was just checking up on things and he knows nothing so they knock him out cold.

Axl is getting his perv on asking Beth how old she is. Just when you thought Carol couldn't be more great she steps in and puts a stop to it. Axl was only looking for a partner and that was his best choice since he thinks that Carol is a lesbian because of her hair. This was one of the funniest scenes in the whole series, especially after finding out that she is not a lesbian Axl looks like he has decided to go after her.

Maggie and Glen try to escape when the door opens. Maggie gets her guy in the throat with the bone, but Glen is up against Merle and his bayonette arm and over powers him. There is some gunfire which draws others (including Rick and the guys) to where the prisoners are. Maggie gets a gun and points it at Merle, but as always happens more guys with guns, aimed at her head, come in.

The rescue mission is in full swing and the guys and Michonne are in the correct building. Maggie and Glen are being forced onto their knees and they are going to be shot at gunpoint. Daryl is close enough to her Merle's voice through the tin wall. I know if I ever heard my brother or sisters voice I could pick them out easily. Maggie and Glen are dragged away and flash bombs are thrown so that they can only just see Maggie and Glen and not who was holding them (handy).

The Guv'nor is trying to keep everyone calm in the village telling them to go home and lock their doors. When the find the guy who was knocked out cold they realise that the village is under attack. The Guv'nor tells them not to take prisoners, kill on sight.

Glen is not looking good. Looks like some broken rib acting to me! They hide out in an abandoned shop, and Michonne closes the door and takes off on her own. Glen tells Daryl that it was Merle!!! RESULT! Daryl now knows about his brother being alive and being a sadistic bastard. I may just be high on lemsip at the moment, but I am finding the dialogue in this episode hilarious. "he threw a walker at me!. I laughed so hard!! Daryl then thinks that Merle is the Guv'nor (he wishes) and Glen apologises to Rick saying that he broke and told them where the prison was (no Maggie did it!). Rick brushes it off and tells him not to apologise in the way a good leader does. OK this just got touching! Daryl wants to go and see Merle and talk to him. He thinks that they can work something out. This makes me love Daryl even more, he suddenly looks so sweet and lost without his brother, but he agrees to stay with Rick and help him with Glen.

Merle hilariously puts it that "they want what we have". You mean your prisoners. Merle stretches the truth saying that they killed someone by stabbing them in the neck. Well yes she did, but you had her hostage first! Andrea gets a rubbish task and she is pissed about it, but The Guv'nor can't risk you seeing your old gang now you silly cow, because he knows how flighty you are!

Michonne has gone to The Guv'nor's apartment to wait for him. She is sitting in a chair facing the door with her sword out, just oozing cool!

The gang thrown smoke bombs into the street for cover and make a run for it. There is lots of shooting, but only casualties on the Woodbury side. Andrea tells The Guv'nor that she saw one of them, a young black guy in a prison uniform and the Guv'nor, nods and states that they must be escaped convicts. He tell Andrea to get inside and that they can wait them out. There is more gunfire and Daryl is going to hang back and give cover while the others run for it. When Rick is shooting he sees SHANE!! What?!? Who SHOOTS OSCAR!! What? No, I liked him! Rick shoots him and he was seeing things all along, I guess he is not over his Lori, phone mental break thing (or his fugue state as they call it over at the Watching Dead podcast). Maggie is screaming for Rick since Oscar is dead. She puts one between his eyes so he doesn't come back. I am pouring one out for Oscar! Rick is almost over the wall with Maggie and Glen, but Daryl is still shooting!

Back at the prison and Carl and Beth are loading up clips so they are ready to go. They only have a month of formula and Carl says that he will go on a run with Carol to get more. He is such a great strong character now, but he still needs someone to drive the car! They start to hear screaming from inside the prison, seriously is that woman still screaming? Carl says that he will check it out since that's what Rick would have done. He is a wee badass! On his hunt he comes across the boiler room and he looks at it with regret, then BOOM a walker comes out of nowhere and he shoots it's head off! Yeah Carl! It sacred the shit out of me! Carl comes across Tyreese and his gang in the power room and he shoots a zombie in the head. He then leads the group to safety telling them to leave the woman who was bitten (ahhh... from last week's teaser!) Tyreese refuses!

In the Guv'nor's apartment Michonne hears a noise and busts into the Guv'nor's room of weird. She looks as shocked as you would expect and then finds the daughter zombie. She doesn't know that the girl is a zombie and unchains her. Michonne... how did you survive so long without knowing that you take the bag off first, also can you not hear that it is a zombie by the weird breathing moan thing? Michonne is going to kill her, but the Guv'nor comes in and draws his gun on Michonne. After a stand off where the Guv'nor all but surrenders, Michonne stabs the zombie daughter through the back of the skull and the sword goes straight through and out zombie girl's mouth. Some serious fighting then goes on with both Michonne and the Guv'nor being pretty equally matched. They are both kicking the shit out of each other and then the Guv'nor gets the upper hand and smashes Michonne's head into one of the tanks. Michonne manages to pull down two more tanks and mow there are zombie heads chomping away all over the place. It looks like the Guv'nor has the better of Michonne, but she manages to grab a shard of glass and shove it into the Guv'nor's eye! He is wriggling around and screaming when just as Michonne is about to finish him off, Andrea comes in and pulls her gun on Michonne! They circle each other and then Michonne leaves. Andrea tries to help the Guv'nor but he is morning the loss of zombie daughter. Andrea is not as freaked out about the skulls in tanks as I would be!

Carl has lead Tyreese and his group to the holding area. The bitten woman is dead and Carl offers to step up to the plate and put her down. Tyreese steps in and says he will do it and pulls out his hammer. So messy Tyreese, stick to the single bullet. When Carl locks them in Sasha starts to go mental demanding to be let out. Tyreese stops her and tells her to leave the man alone. I assume he is talking about Carl and I don't think it is in a patronising way. He says that it is Carl's house, so Carl's rules. In this new way of life "manhood" is when they have the skills to survive and provide shelter for others, so I would concur that Carl is a man! Way to go Carl.

The Guv'nor's eye socket is disgusting, to be fair, it could look worse, but it looks like he has lost the eye. Andrea wants to know what was going on with all the heads and why Michonne came back for him. The Doc and Merle barge in and tell the Guv'nor that they lost them. The Guv'nor states that she came to kill him, and this sounds to me like a declaration of war!

Glen, Maggie and Rick get back to their post on the other side of the wall, and Michonne turns up. She looks like hell and Rick takes her sword. She pleads her case saying that they will still need her help if they are going back to the prison, or going back to get Daryl.

The Guv'nor walks into the arena to give a speech to the masses about how this was akin to the night the virus broke out. It sounds like a rousing speech, but I hate the Guv'nor so I am tuning out. It is all just propaganda nonsense anyway. OK, this has just taken a turn for the worse. The Guv'nor has decided to turn on Merle and they have Daryl as prisoner. He shouts that these are the terrorist and what should be done? Everyone is chanting to kill them, and The Guv'nor turns to Merle and tells him that now he has his brother like he wanted. During this whole speech the Guv'nor's eye bandage has turned from stark white to having a murky brown stain on the bottom half. It is rather gross and amazing at the same time.

So that's it until February 2013 folks!! Looks like we have some awesome stuff coming up and I can't wait to see what happens with Merle and Daryl. Will the gang accept Tyreese and his group? Will Andrea finally wise up? We shall see!!!

Now I just have to decide what to watch to keep me entertained until Feb!

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x07

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x07

The Walking Dead 3x07 - "When the Dead Come Knocking"

So the play is over and I now don't know what to do with all of my time! Only joking, I can't tell you how much work and housework have piled up over the past few weeks. I have taken some time to sit down and watch the Walking Dead - When the Dead Come Knocking. I am guessing that the title refers to Michonne since Merle told The Governor that she was dead!! I'm so excited!

Previously... No one leaves, closed gates, shot in the leg, bad guy Merle, stupid guy Glen, eavesdropping Michonne, Merle will work out where they have camp and Michonne and the zombies.

Such a good opening scene that really makes me hate both Merle and The Guv'nor. I mean come on he has to know what kind of lengths Merle will go to get this information from Glen and then you know that, like with the soldiers, The Guv'nor will probably want to go and wipe them out and take their supplies.
So Merle is torturing Glen, and doing a pretty good job of it with his sword-hand. He tells Glen that it is his fault that he was taken prisoner and tortured. If only he had lowered his gun to Merle when he saw him, and not left him on the roof for that matter, none of this would be happening. Then Merle disses poor T-Dog, let the man rest in peace Merle! He reminds up that Glen was the cunning and sneaky one back at the beginning of season 1. He took the risks. Now one thing that confused me was that Merle refers to Maggie as the "Farmers Daughter". How does Merle know that Maggie is the farmers daughter? Did they just guess from what Andrea has said about them all?

I can't wait to see what happens when Daryl and Merle meet again. I really hope Daryl defends his people against his brother. You just know there is going to be some major conflict!

Credits... Creepy!

I love Michonne, the image of her standing there with the look in her eye that screams that she is desperate for help and to find a place with some good people, while she is surrounded by walkers has to be my favourite visual of this whole series so far! The bad thing is that she is still bleeding from the shot in her leg and it looks like Rick has not decided if he wants to help her or not yet. Carl is all over it, up at the gate with the keys, and when Michonne passes out trying to fight the zombies off, he is the one that nuts up and shoots them in the head. So as we expected they go and get Michonne and the basket full of formula and cary her inside.

So after bringing in Michonne they try and get her name from her and take away her sword. They tell her that they won't hurt her unless she tries something first and that they are locking her up away from them without her sword for just now. Basically she is in the same position she was in while at Woodbury Cult Camp, but at least this lot are being honest about the facts.
In the cell block Daryl has something to show Rick, and that something is Carol. This is a really touching scene where we can see how happy Rick is that he didn't lose another member of his gang. She survived by fighting her way to solitary and then passing out there. The looks that are shared when she sees the baby and Rick made me well up again, and it was not just me, poor Carl was welling up too and could probably have used a hug from Carol. I think Michonne realised she was going to be OK with this lot when she watched them all interacting with each other in an honest way.

Back at Woodbury and I am already bored. I can't wait until the gang blow into town to get Glen and Maggie. I know it gives a bit of variety and shows just how grim the prison really is by comparison, but all of the characters here really annoy me, especially Andrea! Dr Frankenstein passes on the message that Mr Coleman is ready to The Guv'nor who then tries to talk to Andrea, she tries to jump his bones. I hope there is a zombie infestation soon, maybe just a handful of zombies to spice stuff up.

Michonne starts talking about how she found the prison and that the "young Asian guy" and the "pretty girl" got taken. Just after she tells them that they were taken my the same son'bitch who shot her (who we know is Merle and Daryl's brother... say it, say it...) she pauses and they put pressure on her by pressing her wound, and point a crossbow at her... Probably not the best way to get info from her! After getting the basics, Woodbury, 75 survivors, pretty boy Guv'nor (pretty... really?), armed guards etc... Michonne then mentions that she things they can slip through and get in! Yay, go get them!!

Glen has had the absolute shit kicked out of him. He looks really messed up. I agree he is a lot tougher than I took him for! Merle is messing with Glen's head saying that no one is coming to rescue him. Glen talks it all up and says that there is too many of them for Merle to fight and starts listing everyone including Shane, Dale, Jim and Andrea.... ruh-roh and I think from Merle's reaction Glen realises he has made a mistake!

Michonne is being stitched up by Hershel and looks like she is still not trusting them by the look she gives Carl. Did anyone else notice that she was wearing a necklace with the letter A on it? I wonder is that is part of her back story, or belonged to Andrea at one point?!?
The gang are assembling a rescue party to go and get Glen and Maggie. Beth offers to go with Rick, and then Axl (hey Axl!) and Oscar offer too. They are taking some pretty impressive weaponry, flash grenades and tear gas along with all of their guns, all packed tidily into the boot of their car. Michonne makes some comment about how she couldn't believe that they have cleared the whole prison and Beth comments that there were more of them, but they have only really lost T-Dog and Lori so far (and half of Hershal's leg) it just feel much less without Maggie and Glen doing it in the guard tower.
Rick and Carl finally talk about Carl shooting Lori and then he asks Carl to look after them all if something happens and to take care of his sister. It was sweet when Carl tells Rick that Daryl has been calling her Ass-kicker and then they settle on the name Judith after Carl's 3rd Grade teacher. This seems a little weird unless he just likes the name, which is completely acceptable, however after a teacher that you have not seen in years is weird. Daryl and Carol say good bye... kiss... aww shucks, not this time!! Looks like Axl is staying behind as well as he is still inside when they shut the gate.

Mr Coleman seems to be the oldest member of Woodbury and is being nursed by Dr Frankenstein while there is some old school music playing. The Guv'nor thanks Mr Coleman for doing a great service for them all... my spider sense is tingling!! The Doc rings a prayer bowl and then asks Mr Coleman a bunch of questions about who he was married to and who his children were. It looks like Mr Coleman is about to bite the dust, poor man!

Glen is struggling with his restraints, but he has been welded on to that chair with Duct tape!! Oh shit! Merle is now torturing Glen with the threat of a zombie on a stick. This is not looking good! Merle releases the zombie and Glen does amazingly with all the crap in the room, especially as he has his whole forearm taped to a chair. They fight and Glen finally (and painfully by the sounds of it) smashes his chair against the wall. The zombie bites into his forearm, but as we know from doc, duct tape is rather zombie resistant, so Glen has the upper hand and shoves something through his head! I actually clapped at the end of this scene because Glen is a badass!! Go Glen!

The Doc and his creepy tea explains the basis for the experiment to see if there is anything left of Mr Coleman once he has turned. Andrea is there to finish him off! There is some chatting about how the Doc has never seen anyone turn, then the old dude dies and they begin to tighten his restraints.

Merle reports back on how he has got nothing from Glen, and how awesome Glen was with the Zombie (my words!). The Guv'nor tells Merle that he will go and speak to Maggie to find out what she knows and where there camp is. I actually seriously don't know if the Guv'nor is really stupid or not. Doe he think that telling her that they will drive her back to her camp, she can't talk to Glen because her people are dangerous, we will bring them back here and you'll be safe will work? everything contradicts each other. Also I think that he thinks he is being charming, and really it is just coming off as creepy and sleasy! I feel like I need a wash after watching that! Now he is making her strip and it's really creepy, ok and it looks like he is going to try and rape her and she still stays silent. Looks like he was bluffing for now! I hate him so much!

So the rescue team decide to stop their car a few mile from Woodbury to avoid patrols and they set off into the forest to walk the rest of the way. Rick thanks Daryl for holding everything together and Daryl tells him that it is just what we do. He is totally team Rick! After a while they notice that they are totally surrounded by zombies, I guess they are in "the red zone"!! They make a run for an old run down house and find a crazy person hiding inside who then threatens to call the cops. How long has this guy been out there for? The zombies are all nicely lined up against the house, the long and short of it is that Michonne kills the crazy man before he can let all the zombies in and then they decide to use him as bait while they run out the back. It's blood and guts galore and amazing!

Mr Coleman changes and poor Doc tries to get Mr C to answer the same questions. He thinks that the restraints are stopping him so takes one off against Andrea's wishes! Stupid! Zombie Mr C tries to eat his face and Andrea stabs him in the top of the head. It must be a good knife to get through the skull with no effort!

After all they have been through Maggie and Glen are finally back together when she is brought still topless into his room. When the gun is pointed at Glens head, Maggie cracks and tells them where their campo is and how many they are.
The Guv'nor and his men are having a very interesting discussion. They are trying to decide if Maggie is lying about there only being 10 of them at the prison, or if there are more. If there are more then they have trouble, but if there is only 10 they have done something that Merle said was impossible. I have to assume they are talking about taking the prison which we have just been told is in the middle of the red zone! Go Team Rick!!

The gang sneak up on Woodbury and scope it out. The Guv'nor asks where Merle's loyalties lie and he states with Woodbury. I think his loyalties lie with Daryl, but when he finds out that Daryl does not feel the same way all hell will break loose. The Guv'nor sends a recon party out to the prison to see what's going on... (3 kids, a one legged man, Carol and Axl are what's going on!) Andrea goes back to the Guv'nor telling him that Mr C died and the Doc didn't find what he was looking for. Sad face Guv!

Net time... Oooohhh... mid season finale! Glen and Maggie look like they are going to be shot execution style (al least Glen gave Maggie his top), The Guv wants to kill them so Andrea doesn't find out. Daryl finds out his brother is there. Carl is taking charge with some zombies and making decisions (he tells someone to "leave her". Who?). Another zombie fight. Is Michonne the enemy? And a battle!!

I can't believe we are at the mid season finale already!! I can't wait to see what happens when the two camps clash. Have both camps got their best people scouting out the other camp? Who does Carl want to leave behind? I am so excited, are you?

Running Thoughts - The Walking Dead 3x06

My mental vomiting of thoughts while watching the walking dead continues. I want to share my thoughts on the latest episode of The Walking Dead with my buddy "Sheriff Claw" and all of you...

If you have not seen this episode yet, do not read on, lots of spoilers ahead for episode 3x05

The Walking Dead 3x06 - "Hounded"

I am finally home from tonight's technical rehearsal of Richard the Third, which I am assistant director for. It has been a long few days setting everything up and running after everyone with my bum knee in a freezing converted church. But I am now settled and warm and ready for some bloodshed and zombies. Bring it on!!!

Previously... The Guv'nor, sword, Michonne, T-Dog and Carol dead, zombie fight, Andrea, caesarian section, baby, Rick flipping out, Merle loves Daryl, Michonne leaves, Andrea stays, ring ring...

In the woods Merle and a hunting party stumble across some mutilated zombie parts that look like they are a message. One of them figures out that it is a message spelling "Go Back". It was quite clever with the GO spelled out and then the back of a torso. I probably would not have figured it out so quickly. The one that worked it out is totally freaking out and Merle tells him to nut up and then proceeds to call him Neil as he can't pronounce the poor boy's last name. I hate Merle again.

Merle shouts out for Michonne to come out of hiding saying that she is never going to beat them with her sword. Before you know it she has dropped from somewhere (the trees?) and chops of one head and sticks another one. As she is running away she is shot in the leg, looks like a flesh wound to me, and dissappears into the woods. I am guessing fresh blood may be a bad thing to have running down your leg in a world infested with zombies!!

Credits... creepy.

Rick is on the phone with a woman who is, rightly so, being shady about her location. Rick wants to come and join forces with them as she claims they are some place safe. Crazy Rick had cracked and tells her that they are all dying here. He told her that he has a son and a newborn, Rick has no idea yet that it is a girl since he went all nuts and on his killing rampage.

Rick comes back in to see how everyone is doing and pats Carl on the back. He has cleaned himself up and changed his closes which is good since he was looking totally funky before. He does not even look at his baby, possibly because it would mean to him that Lori is really dead and that he is on his own raising her. Axl is clearing out the generator room in case they have to use it for an emergency, but there is no mention of the phone call to the group. He is playing this one close to his chest.

Poor Neil is being sick over the decapitated head of his buddy. Merle tells them that they are in the Red Zone and they will have to move. Have the zoned everywhere close to the cult camp, and if so, what exactly defines it as a red zone? Do they have amber and green zones too? Merle stabs one of them in the head and gets Neil to do the other one so that they don't turn. Good call Merle!

Andrea is still at the cult camp and reeling from the zombie showdown fight. She claims to get it, and seems to be pissed at the Guv'nor. She asks for duty on the wall shooting at things and seems to be getting what she wants, but I am still suspicious. I am kind of bored of the Andrea scenes now. It annoys me that she is still buying into all the nonsense going on and can't see that the Guv'nor is not someone to be trusted. It is irritating how stupid she has become this season.

Waiting for a phone call must be even more boring when all you have to play with are bolts, but Rick finally gets the callback he has been waiting for. There is a man on the other end of the phone that confirms that where they are staying is safe. Sounds a bit like the propaganda being spun over at the cult camp. He wants to know if Rick has killed anyone, and to his credit Rick takes ownership of the murders he has committed. There was the 2 in the bar when they were staying at the barn, the machete in the head and Shane! Mr phone seems to want to run some grief counselling over the phone and asks how Rick lost his wife. He is still in no mental state to talk about this and for saying this the other guy hangs up. What strikes me as odd is that he could receive incoming calls but there is no dial tone. Does this mean that the call is coming from inside the prison?

Andrea is up on the wall sharing stories of killing family members with another girl who is seems to be on guard. There is a zombie coming and the girl on guard misses twice, come one love don't make us look feeble and pathetic. Andrea jumps the wall and stabs him in the eye. She gets that look on her face like Michonne did that seems to say "I have missed killing stuff!" Are you back Andrea?

Rick is alone in the boiler room and Hop-Along-Hershel comes in to shoot the breeze with Rick. They talk a little about Lori and Hershel tells him to take time, which I think is pretty cool since they are on the back foot at the moment. Rick tells Hershel about the phone call, and while he was doing it I started to wonder if the phone calls were figments of Rick's imagination. He seemed to completely snap during the last episode, so it could easily be that he has imagined a utopia as a coping mechanism. Hershel offers to wait with him, but Rick wants to be alone.

Merle and Neil are still Michonne hunting the woods when they suddenly find her. It seems like she cut Neil when she swung, but when he was holding his side there was no blood or evidence of being cut, so I think he was lucky. Merle and Michonne tussle and Michonne is kickass even without her sword, breaking Merle's nose, no more modelling jobs for you Merle! Unluckily for them 3 walkers try to eat them, Merle is trying to keep one of them off him and Michonne only just gets her sword. One of the most disgusting things yet, was when Michonne sliced at the walker's stomach and all his guts fall out of the newly made wound and land on her lying underneath. It was wonderful. By the time the boys recover, Michonne has fled again.

Oscar, Daryl and Carl are on zombie clearing duty. Daryl and Carl are walking together and Daryl talks about his mother dying in a fire she set by smoking in bed. Carl admits to shooting Lori before she had turned and all in all it was a really sweet and touching moment. Daryl and Carl will make a kickass team!

Uh-oh, Andrea has been called into the Guv'nor's office because she is in trouble for jumping the wall. He takes the wall guard duty away from her as punishment. I really don't care any more what she does. There is weird flirting and I am distracted by dust on my wall!

Neil wants to finish hunting Michonne and it is now clear from his t-shirt that he did get sliced by her. Merle wants to go back and tell the Guv'nor that she is dead anyway. Classic Merle! After some more talking, where Neil wants to tell the Gov the truth, Merle shoots him in the head. Well that's that decided then, lying to the Guv it is!
Michonne is getting her stuff when 4 walkers appear, however they walk right past her as she is covered in zombie guts, it is season one all over again!!

The woman is back on the phone wanting to talk about Lori. She calls him Rick and suddenly I am convinced that this is all in his head! Poor crazy Rick!

Michonne stumbles upon a car park, of what looks to be a closed up shop. What would you know, Maggie and Glen pull up in their car. I have been looking forward to this after seeing a teaser for it on last weeks preview. Maggie and Glen are being all lovey dovey with each other and then start to open the shop. A few birds fly out and I jumped so high. I mean birds can be evil and angry. When they gang together you better watch out!! The film The Birds is a good cautionary tale. Maggie asks Glen to get the toy duck as a "kid growing up in prison could use some toys" therefore giving Michonne all the information she needs to work out where they are and that they have some young! Silly woman!

Andrea, flirty, garden, drinking. Uncomfortable flirting now. Yuck. Talky talky, boring!! Kissing, so stupid Andrea!

Yay, it seems that they now have lots of formula for baby plus other tasty goods!! Aww shit, it's Merle, just when I thought Michonne might come out of hiding and introduce herself, he shows up! Neither Glen or Maggie trust Merle with his sword attached to his stump. Merle wants to know about Daryl, and Glen has the good idea of saying that he will go and tell Daryl where Merle is and he will come back to meet him. It's with good reason that they don't trust him as, before you know it he has drawn another gun and has taken Maggie captive. Glen refuses to take them to his "camp", but Merle is going to take them somewhere different anyway... the cult I am guessing!! Michonne is left there looking at the formula, knowing that there are people holed up in a prison and they need this baby food. Go on Michonne, go and take the food to get yourself in!!

During patrol Oscar finds a pair of slippers and is very excited. I loved this little touch of funny in with all the drama going on in the prison, and I have to say that I would be pretty excited about slippers too. I love slippers!! Suddenly a zombie, they all shoot, but there is a knife stuck in it's neck. It's Carol's knife... I really hope this means she is alive as they can't kill her off in such a crappy fashion that they just find her scarf and assume she is dead!! Daryl looks hopeful too - go and get her Daryl!

Another phone call with the voices and Rick actually looks scared of it this time. Oh lordy, I think I was right. Rick has been talking to the dead. The reason they are all safe is that they are in heaven. He has been talking to Amy, Jim, Jackie and he is currently having a conversation with Lori. Rick pours out his soul and all his guilt over letting her die. I hope this means that he can pull himself together and take up the Ricktatorship again. He needs to go and look after his baby and Lori's voice tells him this too!!

Andrea got some, so she must be happy! Merle lied his ass off about killing Michonne and why he doesn't have either her head or her sword! And now it sounds like he is planning on torturing Glen and Maggie for the location of where they are staying. It is a busy day in the cult!

It seems like they have managed to steal some nice baby clothes for the baby, and Rick is finally holding her and being a dad!

It looks like it is Daryl's turn to go nuts. He is sitting stabbing at the ground listening to a banging door, once he opens the door he does not find a walker like he expected, but Carol!! Yay Carol! I am so happy that she is not dead. Daryl carries her out of there like a hero!

Outside Rick passes the baby to Carl and he sees something in the distance. When he walks up to the fence, there are the usual walkers and then there is Michonne carrying the basket full of formula standing in the middle of them all covered in their smell! The look on her face is so desperate to have somewhere to rest and recharge that I am really hoping Rick will let her in (of course he will, it would be a shit series otherwise!). I actually clapped to see Michonne there, but I am surprised she could walk so far so quickly when Glen commented that they might get back for dinner and her was in a car. I hope she tells the gang where Glen and Maggie are soon. I smell a rescue coming on!

Next time... Glen torture, group hunting, Michonne killing zombies, slutty Andrea, Michonne dishing the dirt on the Guv, Maggie torture, flashes and the Glen being punched.

There are some parts of this show for me that I love and get really excited for and then there are most of the bits with Andrea. I really hope the lid get's blown off the cult by Rick and the gang so that we can move on. Next week I con't wait to find out -

- How Michonne is going to get on with everyone.
- If Carol is ok.
- What they are going to name the baby.
- How long will Glen last under torture before spilling everything?
- I know Axl was "fixing the generator", but where was he really?
