Follow Friday (4)

Welcome to another Follow My Book Blog Friday. Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don’t like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

I have seen a lot of people saying insta-love. I dont' have a problem with this, my issue is with abrupt endings. I hate books that end only a couple of pages after the conclusion. Sometimes it is necessary, especially if the book is part of a series, and I accept this. But when a book is a stand alone we need a bit of closure to say a small goodbye to the characters we have just come to know. I don't find the abrupt ending too often, but when I do I feel so unsatisfied.

Happy Friday!

  2. My goodness, abrupt endings make me want to cry. I hate how I'm just reading happily along, and then, SUDDENLY, I turn the page and it's over! :P

Thanks for stopping by and following, and I'm following you back now!

  3. I agree with the insta-love. It really doesn't bother me (unless the characters are completely annoying about it). Abrupt endings, though, are unfortunate. It's like the author didn't care enough to take the time to plan it out more.

  4. You reminded me that I really hate cliff hanger endings that don't resolve ANY of the plot issues. I sould have put that in my list . Great thoughts! Have a great weekend.

  5. I agree about the abrupt endings. Especially when I'm reading an ebook, I get a kind of panic when I notice how many pages remain toward the end of a book. I'm always going, "there is no earthly way the author can spend a proper amount of time wrapping this up". :-)

  6. Yes, it can be annoying when there is a huge long build up and then it's all over in two or three pages.
Thanks for stopping by my blog this weekend!
